This section provides information about deprecated and removed functionality in Mirantis OpenStack services.

Gnocchi backend for Tenant Telemetry

Details	Deprecated and removed the Gnocchi time series database as the metrics storage backend for the Tenant Telemetry service (the `metric` service). Starting with the OpenStack Gazpacho release, Tenant Telemetry uses Prometheus as the metrics storage backend through the new `metric-storage` service. Upgrading OpenStack from Epoxy to Gazpacho removes Redis, the key-value store that Gnocchi used to hold metrics. If the Tenant Telemetry services are enabled in your cloud, you must either uninstall or reconfigure them when moving to the OpenStack Gazpacho release. Autoscaling users must rewrite their Heat templates and update their Heat stacks to use different alarm type, resource properties, and metric queries. Details

Details	Replaced NGINX Ingress with Application Gateway (`app-gateway`) as the ingress layer for OpenStack, Ceph, and OpenSDN public endpoints. Application Gateway is an Envoy Proxy instance managed by the Envoy Gateway controller. Application Gateway provides full functional and operational parity with NGINX Ingress. Details

OpenStackDeploymentSecret custom resource

Details	The `OpenStackDeploymentSecret` custom resource has been deprecated. MOSK 23.1 introduces the capability to hide sensitive information from the `OpenStackDeployment` object by using the `value_from` directive. For details, see Hiding sensitive information.

The allow-unsafe-backup parameter for MariaDB

Details	Removed the unsafe `--allow-unsafe-backup` flag for MariaDB backup for security and backup procedure simplification purposes.

CPU isolation using isolcpus

Details	Configuring CPU isolation through the `isolcpus` configuration parameter for Linux kernel is considered deprecated. MOSK 21.5 introduces the capability to configure CPU isolation using the `cpusets` mechanism in Linux kernel.
