Storage configuration is out of sync with metadata

With the inplace storage mode, an error message will display if you fail to configure the external storage location for your target MSR system to the same storage location that your source MSR system uses:

Storage configuration may be out of sync with metadata: storage backend is
missing expected files (expected BlobStoreID <BlobStoreID>)

To remedy the error, do one of the following:

  • Configure your target MSR system to use the same external storage as your source MSR system. Refer to Configure external storage for more information.

  • Rerun the migration using the copy storage mode.

  • Manually copy the files from the source MSR system to the target MSR system.
